Roadflash Sponsorship of Chesterfield FC Community Awards
We are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring Chesterfield Football Club’s 2022 Community Awards - celebrating the many caring individuals across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
Chesterfield FC is hosting its Community Awards on April 16th, at the Technique Stadium. The awards have been created to give back to the local community and celebrate the heroes in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire that, despite a very challenging year, have given their time selflessly to help other people.
The night is set to be uplifting, inspiring and packed full of entertainment. There are ten awards on the night including ‘Adult of Bravery’, ‘Outstanding Sporting Achievement’, and ‘Young Person of Courage Award’ - which Roadflash is proud to be sponsoring as MD Simon Rood goes on to explain.
“Sponsoring the CFC Community Awards was a no-brainer for me. It's looking to be a great night, I'm looking forward to honoring all the caring people of Chesterfield and Derbyshire. There are so many individuals that deserve recognition in the local community and the evening is a brilliant chance to celebrate them!”
Simon continues, “I feel particularly honored to be sponsoring the Young Person of Courage Award this year, after what has been a challenging 18-months for many, especially young people”.
“The nominee for this award is Harrison Townsend. He’s nine years old and was sadly diagnosed with a cancerous tumour on his pelvis in May 2021. As a result, he’s had to have a Hickman line fitted and receives weekly doses of chemotherapy,”
“The support he’s received from family and friends has been amazing - his family even completed a charity walk up Goatfell to raise funds for his school as a thank you for their support. He’s also received personal messages from players at Chesterfield Football Club who have been right behind him every step of the way,”
“Harrison has been so brave,” says Simon. “He always has a smile on his face and works incredibly hard. He is fully deserving of the award in recognition of his resilience and bravery.”
